The National Trust property; situated approximately 3 miles outside of Bridgnorth in Shropshire; will be celebrating the Bank Holiday Monday in style and are hoping that visitors will get into the spirit by helping them to “Bring in the May”.

The traditional celebrations will see visitors making wishes to tie onto a May Tree for them to be carried away on the wind when the tree is raised in the Orchard later in the day. Demonstrations of grass rope and cordage making will also be undertaken by Outback2basics who will be encouraging visitors to have a go themselves.

To really give a festive feel the property are also being joined by Shrewsbury Morris who will be undertaking various performances throughout the day.

Visitor Experience Officer, Ruth Watson said “we are really looking forward to bringing back some of the old traditions to our May Day celebrations this year. There will be fun for all the family as the children will also have the opportunity to make Green Man masks and paper flower garlands to take home. We do hope that everyone enjoys their day.”
