The Shropshire Food Enterprise Centre is home to a wide range of food production companies, while also offering a boardroom, training and meeting facilities to businesses of any kind from across the region.

On September 17 the centre, at Battlefield Enterprise Park, is holding a Business Breakfast event which will include a hot breakfast showcasing some of the region’s finest produce and cooked by its resident chef in its TASTE kitchen.

Shropshire Food Enterprise Centre is managed on behalf of Shropshire Council by Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF), the regional food group for the Midlands.

HEFF chief executive, Karen Davies MBE, said: “Many people know that the centre is home to a number of flourishing food businesses and the reputation of the TASTE Kitchen, with our excellent chef Danny Silcock, is known across the Midlands and beyond.

“However we wanted to hold an event which will give visitors a real insight into what happens here, why businesses come here to innovate and develop their products and how these producers are being supported by HEFF.

“Our guests will also have an opportunity to learn more about our services for all businesses, from hiring our training and conferencing facilities to having our TASTE Kitchen food delivered to their premises for a working breakfast or lunch.

“It is also a chance for our tenant producers to showcase their produce and invite visitors to taste food which they and other HEFF members produce. This is food which is sold in stores across the country, from the local garden centre and independent retailers to the major supermarkets and luxury brand stores, including Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason.”

The business breakfast will start at 8am with tea, coffee and a breakfast of regional produce in the TASTE Kitchen. The visitors will also learn how the kitchen itself can be used to launch new products, showcase products to potential buyers and undertake product development.

An introduction to the centre and a tour will take place at 9am, followed by a tour of the food production units and a tasting at 9.15am. To reserve a place at the free event, please email reception@heff.co.uk or phone 01743 452818 by Thursday, September 12.
