The voluntary group of local and tourism-focused businesses committed to protecting and enhancing the visitor experience in Chirk and the Ceiriog Valley on the North Wales/Shropshire border, has elected Chris Futcher as its new Chairman. The meeting also elected Carol Pick from Llwynmawr as CCVP Secretary. Both were elected unopposed.
Bryn Hughes, from Ceiriog Country Holidays in Pontfadog and a founder member of the Partnership, was appointed to lead a Tourism sub-group with a special remit to ensure the Partnership has a strong involvement in relation to the Wrexham County Borough Destination Management Plan.
Chris Futcher commented: “All our efforts in the first instance will be centred on building the membership and encouraging greater participation within the group. Our aim is to take the Partnership forward with renewed vim and vigour. Today’s meeting showed there is a strong collective will amongst all members to make this happen and to see the Partnership actively contributing to the future economic prosperity of Chirk and the Ceiriog Valley.”
