John Mehtam is the head of employment law at Martin-Kaye Solicitors and he will be hosting the next event in a series of masterclasses run by Telford Business Partnership.
The session will take place on Wednesday, May 1, at 4.30pm, at The Foundry, in Euston Way, when TBP members will get the opportunity to find out more about managing the new forms of communication.
Robin Melley, TBP Chairman, said the event would outline the current risks associated with Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube – and advice on how to avoid the pitfalls.
“Our aim is to deliver masterclasses that are topical and relevant to local companies, and with hardly a week going by without a controversial comment on social media hitting the headlines, we’re sure this seminar will prove extremely popular. How many of us know exactly what our staff are saying online? What can we do if they make misleading or even derogatory comments about our business?
“Many employers are not fully aware of the scale and threat posed by social media or how to manage it, so this latest masterclass will be an excellent way of learning more about this fast-moving technological world.”
TBP launched the masterclass series so that members can step up to share their expertise and the calendar is already full for the coming months.
Numbers are strictly limited at each event to ensure that everyone who attends is able to be directly involved in the interactive session, and that they are able to ask as many questions as possible.
The masterclasses are free for members of Telford Business Partnership and Telford Young Professionals, but visitors may be able to attend for a nominal fee if numbers allow. TBP is a growing network of business and professional service companies, promoting the diversity and quality of their services to local companies and those relocating to the area.
Any members who would like to register for the masterclass should contact June Noto at Martin-Kaye on 01952 525951 or email junenoto@martinkaye.co.uk
