Fran Robinson and Sarah Knowles set up Big Little Things in 2010 to offer a “one stop shop†for bride and grooms planning their big day.
They are now supplying cakes, flowers, favours and bespoke handmade jewellery and accessories to people across the UK.
Mrs Knowles, who runs the Telford branch of the business and specialises in the exclusive jewellery said: “The first 12 months was spent establishing the business but in the last three months business has boomed.
“We have been contacted by national wedding publications wanting to feature our products which has resulted in three photo shoots and a double page feature in the Unique Wedding magazine.
“Our presence on Twitter and photos being circulated across the UK has seen a boom in orders and a double in turnover for us which is fantastic and quite unbelievable as we are just a small Shropshire company.
“For anybody who is not using such a social networking tool for business purposes such as Twitter should start now. It could really make your business.â€
The pair are already preparing products for 10 weddings in the next three months.
Mrs Robinson, an award-winning cake designer who runs the Shrewsbury branch of Big Little Things, said networking within Shropshire was fantastic but Twitter had seen their business spread much further.
“We organised a local photo shoot but we have also travelled across the UK including Guildford and Chester for exclusive shoots after being approached by some of the top designers in the country.
“These shoots have resulted in some fantastic blogs solely focussed on our business and our products,†the mother-of-two said.
“We have been overwhelmed in the last three months alone and have got a great reason to celebrate our second anniversary.
“The season ahead is looking very busy with brides across the country wanting that special, handmade, bespoke item which they won’t find or see anywhere else.â€
The two businesswomen are offering anybody who places an order this month (MAY) a free bottle of bubbly to help celebrate their anniversary.
Big Little Things also co-ordinates large celebratory events and has organised golden wedding anniversaries, milestone birthday parties and retirement parties over the last two years.
