Start Technology, which was founded in Bridgnorth 13 years ago, has launched a second base in Shrewsbury and is taking on more staff.

Bosses at the company, which specialises in the supply and support of IT networks to businesses across the region, have said that the new office at Battlefield Enterprise Park is part of exciting expansion plans.

“We are filling a gap in the market in Shrewsbury as we believe we are the only business of our kind in the area,” said Ian Groves, technical director of Start Technology.

The firm also specialises in VoIP telephone systems which replace the need for traditional analogue or digital phone systems and are far more cost effective as they mean that multiple phone lines are not necessary.

Ian said that The Rural Enterprise Centre at Battlefield was chosen as an ideal location for a second base as it was easily accessible and one of the most energy efficient office buildings in Shrewsbury.

He added: “We are looking forward to developing our customer base from here as we believe there is a huge potential for our services in Shrewsbury – the firm is than aiming for further expansion in the future so this is a very exciting time for Start Technology.”
