Lantern parade to launch Telford & Wrekin Olympic and Paralympics celebrations

Described as a magical ‘torch’ lantern parade the event will take place on Friday 17 February, 6pm -7.30pm and will include a spectacular fireworks display to music.

Telford & Wrekin residents will be able to enjoy a host of events and activities across the borough through the year with the lantern parade being the first chance to soak up the atmosphere and get involved.

The Parade will start outside Telford Library in Southwater Square at 6pm. There will be sound and lighting effects along the route thanks to Scadge Studios, a creative media company based in Hortonwood, who are sponsoring the event and a spectacular fireworks display to music to conclude the evening.
