The Shropshire office of one of the nation’s largest independent insurance brokers has a new man at the helm.
Rob Matthews now heads the Shrewsbury branch of Lycetts, where he succeeds Philip Rogers-Coltman who set up the office in 2010. Mr Rogers-Coltman will remain with the office as a part-time consultant.
Mr Matthews, whose career in the insurance industry spans over 30 years, said he was looking forward to his new role which he described as “the natural next step for me to take”.
He added: “I have always been involved with agriculture, which is a major part of the Lycetts operation, and that is where my interest and expertise predominantly lies.
“After the best part of three decades working for a well known farming association I latterly worked at a loss adjustment practice where I gained a thorough understanding of the products available in the insurance market.
“I would like to think that there is very little related to farming, estates or property on which I couldn’t offer advice.
“I confess that I am a country boy at heart and understand the needs and concerns of farms and property owners alike.”
Mr Matthews, who lives in Much Wenlock, said he was looking forward to carrying on the Lycetts’ code of practice and getting to know existing and future clients.
“Through his knowledge, hard work and sensitivity towards clients’ requirements, Philip has strengthened Lycetts’ reputation as the number one insurance broker for farmers and property owners in Shropshire,” he added.
“I will do all I can to ensure that legacy is continued.”
