Visit Dudmaston on Monday, 2 May and take part in a traditional May Day event to celebrate the coming of summer.

Enjoy the vivacious and vibrant Shrewsbury Morris Dancers and tie a ribbon to the May tree to make a wish. Children can make a Green Man mask or May Queen crown in the activities tent and then join in the music and dancing when the tree is raised at 3.30pm.

Events and Marketing Officer, Alexandra Blakeman said: “The warmer weather certainly hasn’t arrived as yet but our May Day event always signifies that summer is on its way. Shrewsbury Morris Dancers will be joining us again this year which always provides good entertainment. We have all been practising our dancing so you may well witness a few staff and volunteers joining in from the side-lines.”

There are plenty of other things for people to enjoy including Gallery 2, a brand new exhibition which reveals everyday objects, owned by the people who previously lived on the estate.

Normal admission charge applies with a small additional charge for crafts.
