A hotel in Telford is gearing up for its biggest ever wedding fair later this month, as it unveils its new look following a multi-million pound makeover.

The Park Inn by Radisson, in Forgegate, has just completed a £4 million refurbishment project and staff are getting ready to show the hotel in all its glory at a wedding fair on Sunday 22 March.

Rebecca Dawson, meetings and events coordinator, said the event would be the biggest wedding fair ever held at the hotel – and it signalled the start of a new era for the facility.

She said:

“We have fantastic space and flexibility here so we are really keen to make the most of what we’ve got, and following the refurbishment the hotel looks amazing.

“We are holding the wedding fair so people can come and see what we’ve got to offer and we think there might be some surprised faces when they see how the hotel looks now.

“The whole hotel will be decorated for a wedding and we will even have the bridal suite open for bride and grooms-to-be to take a look.

“We have all industries represented, from wedding cars and cakes to entertainment and dresses, along with some really quirky ideas like a caricaturist and a dance floor that lights up.

“It will be well worth coming along to see what’s going on.”

More than 30 exhibitors will be at the wedding fair, with every element of the big day covered.

The hotel has seen a total of £4 million investment over the past two years and the final phase has just been completed to revamp the meeting and corporate rooms.

One of the largest rooms can now hold 350 seated guests, and up to 475 people in a theatre style.

Sarah Dainty, sales manager at the hotel, said:

“It has been an amazing transformation and it has happened so quietly as well – many guests did not even know there were any changes going on.

“We are really looking forward to seeing the faces of guests as they arrive and hope they can start to understand just how many different things the hotel can be used for.

“It is exciting times for us but also really just the start, many more changes are also in the pipeline.”
