Planning decision on new supermarket in Ludlow deferred

Plans for a new out-of-town supermarket in Ludlow were today deferred until later this year.

The planning application for the new supermarket and petrol station at Rocks Green was first submitted in 2014 and has seen much wrangling.

The application went before Shropshire Council’s South Planning Committee this afternoon with a debate lasting several hours.

The committee wanted to refuse the application outright but legal advice was given that the decision must deferred.
