Firefighters from eight stations were called to a fire at GKN Sankey in Telford last night.
The alarm was raised at around 1.20am this morning with 11 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform, the Foam Pod, the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit, the Prime Mover and the Welfare Unit attending.
Crews were mobilised from Telford Central, Tweedale, Wellington, Baschurch, Much Wenlock, Newport, Prees and Shrewsbury. Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were also in attendance.
The fire involved a 12x8m maintenance store.
Local residents were being urged to keep their windows closed at the height of the fire due to the large amount of smoke in the area.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and a covering jet to put out the fire.
The fire was extinguished just before 3am.
