Community involvement in Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Planning

Much Wenlock’s Mayor, Cllr Lesley Durbin said “This is a great opportunity for the whole parish, and if we are to succeed we need the help and support of volunteers from all sections of the community.”

“The Town Council cannot, and should not, develop the Neighbourhood Plan on its own and we want to involve as many local residents as possible. The success of the Much Wenlock Town and Parish Plan, which engaged so many local residents five years ago, shows that we have the skills and enthusiasm within the parish to make neighbourhood planning a success.”

The steering group anticipates needing the involvement of a number of local volunteers with diverse skills such as project management, data management and market research. It would particularly welcome contributions not just from people in the town but also from the other smaller settlements, including Homer and Bourton.

People wishing to become involved, should contact Sharon Clayton, Much Wenlock’s Town Clerk as soon as possible. More information will appear on the Town Council website and notice board over the coming weeks.
