Shrewsbury-based Morris Leisure hopes to start work as soon as possible on the £3 million park on a 20-acre site between the River Teme and the A49 near Richards Castle. The project is expected to be ready for next summer.
Morris Leisure’s managing director Edward Goddard said: “We are delighted that Shropshire Council has approved our plans for this five star park, which we believe will generate around £1 million a year for Ludlow and enhance the local tourism offer.
“Thanks go to the county councilors and the local community for their support. We hope to be able to use as many Shropshire contractors as possible on the project, which will pump money back into the local economy.â€
Morris Leisure already owns four high quality caravan parks in Shropshire and Snowdonia. Stanmore Hall Touring Park, Bridgnorth and Riverside Touring Park, Betws-y-Coed are prestigious affiliated sites of The Caravan Club, while the company also owns Oxon Hall Touring and Holiday Home Park, Shrewsbury and Bow House Country Park, Bishops Castle.
