A number of Brookside residents have played an active role in developing the Masterplan and the proposals have been shared with other residents at public meetings and a drop-in exhibition.
An outline planning application has now been registered by Telford & Wrekin Council and this seeks formal endorsement of the Masterplan. Residents can view the planning application online via the Council website planning tool by searching for reference number TWC 2012 0778 www.telford.gov.uk.
Comments on the planning application can be logged with Telford & Wrekin Council’s Planning Team by contacting Development Management, Telford & Wrekin Council, Darby House, Lawn Central, Telford, TF3 4JA or by calling 01952 380380 or email planning.control@telford.gov.uk.
A decision will be made by Telford & Wrekin’s plans board on Thursday 12 December.
Councillor Shaun Davies, Cabinet Member for Neighborhood Services and Co-operative Council said:
“Brookside is an area where residents are very passionate about how improvements can be made to bring about a positive change.
“As a Co-operative Council, Telford & Wrekin Council wants to listen to residents who want to see improvements to their local area and the services that the Council delivers.
“I would like to encourage local people to view the proposals for Brookside Local Centre and log their views with the Planning Team.”
A further planning application will be submitted in October which will be a full planning application for the development of new retail units to replace the existing shops in Brookside. Further full applications will be made for other elements of the Masterplan early next year.
