A meeting is taking place in Oswestry today to discuss Virgin Trains extending their service from London Euston to Shrewsbury onto Wrexham through Gobowen.
The Office of Rail Regulation has received a formal track access application from Network Rail in relation to Virgin Rail’s proposals for direct services between London and Shrewsbury.
Virgin Trains is to continue to run rail services on the West Coast Mainline for the next two years with a direct service between Shrewsbury and London set to begin from December.
Shropshire MPs have met with Virgin Trains bosses who confirmed they have applied to Office of Rail Regulator to run a twice daily round-trip service between Shropshire and London from December this year.
