A new initiative has been launched in Shrewsbury to encourage people to donate money directly to local homelessness charities, rather than giving it to someone begging in the town’s streets.

Shrewsbury Street Pastors are celebrating a year patrolling the streets of the county town, with over 100 people turning out to a recent service to celebrate the anniversary.
