Farm to Fork Dining at its Best: The Clive Arms

Advertisement Feature

The Clive Arms, just outside of Ludlow and part of the Earl of Plymouth’s Oakly Estate has reopened following an extensive refurbishment, with a range of great new menus focusing on fresh and seasonal produce.

Farm to fork inn

This is local food at its finest, with most ingredients sourced within three miles. The menus feature food from the estate’s own farms and Walled Garden as well as other local producers. Not only does the beef, lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork come directly from the estate, but also the milk used to make butter and ice cream, and honey is from the collection of over 100 hives on the land surrounding the inn.

Open from 11am-11pm, drop into The Clive for a morning coffee, or tuck into a Gloucester Old Spot ham sandwich for lunch, served on fresh bread baked on site. Or, book a spoiling supper; try the Loin of Lamb with wild garlic and Boulangère potatoes, or Butter Roasted Stone Bass with Chorizo, and finish off with Honey Tart or a selection of local cheeses.

Sunday Lunch is a speciality. Served from 12 noon to 3pm, prices start from £14.50. Choose between the Roast sirloin of beef, or leg of lamb served with beef dripping roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and cauliflower cheese.

Private Dining

The Plassey, a beautifully decorated private dining room, is the perfect setting for those looking for somewhere to celebrate a special event. The paneled walls are adorned with colourful vintage prints, and the solid oak dining table and upholstered chairs give a wonderful sense of occasion.

New Look

The Georgian coaching inn has a fresh new layout which includes the restaurant and an extended bar area, snug, lounge and new courtyard to the rear of the building providing year-round dining and socializing under the stars, perfect for the summer months.

An additional three bedrooms have been created, two with luxurious freestanding baths, decorated in soft greens and pinks, all with double-drench showers and 100 Acres toiletries. These join the existing 14 courtyard rooms which have also been completely refurbished.
