Street food fans are in for a treat at Cosford Food Festival

If you love street food accompanied by live music and a cocktail or two… the Cosford Food Festival is the summer event for you!

Heading to the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford on 20-21 July the weekend will be packed full of more artisan food and drink than ever before, from some of the region’s top award-winning producers.

This year’s epic line-up includes some of the best street food in town serving up a diverse menu with flavours from around the world to tempt foodies. New to the festival this year is Birmingham based Canoodle, serving Pan Asian cuisine and Sticky Beaks who specialise in slow-roasted meats. Also new to the line-up is The Grub Shed, serving loaded fries from a quirky converted ambulance.

The hugely popular Street Souvlaki will be back in July with their Greek BBQ along with Baked in Brick serving their chicken tikka wraps cooked on the bonnet of a red mini! If it’s a gourmet burger you fancy, look out for Sticky Fig in their brand new American airstream, or perhaps a freshly made stone baked pizza courtesy of Barebones Pizza could tempt you. For those who like food with a bit more of a kick, Mukaase will be back this year, dishing up Afro-Caribbean curries and dumplings.

Why not wash your lunch down with a glass of fizz from the Proseccart, a little tipple from the Gin Jamboree, or perhaps one of Beetle Juice’s summer cocktails as you sit back and enjoy the festival entertainment! If you’re designated driver, the Bar of Farr Farr Away will be serving soft drinks and slushies alongside their full bar service, or why not grab yourself a freshly ground coffee from Drink Up’s converted American Dodge Van or Van Chaud’s H Van.

An exciting addition to the street food area for those who can’t resist something sweet is The Brownie Bus, their hot chunky brownies and a generous topping of your choice is a must! No summer event would be complete without traditional dairy ice-creams and sorbets, look out for the Shropshire Ice Cream Company in the little yellow caravan.

Plus, four huge marquees will be packed full of local food and drink for you to sample and buy! This bustling food market will be packed with popular favorites on the food festival scene, including;

Spanish Hamper who will bringing along a range of Spanish delicacies including cured chorizo, chorizo spread, jamon iberico, tapas cones and sangria to enjoy on the day. Moyden’s Handmade Cheese are also back for 2019, showcasing their award-winning range of artisan cheeses, including Wrekin Blue, Wrekin White and Newport 1665.

The popular Jack Lewis will be exhibiting again this year with an exciting range of handmade chocolates and brownies with unique designs and flavours. Tempting visitors with a huge selection of international and national award-winning wines is Kerry Vale Vineyard, so whether it’s red, white or fizzy you prefer, there is sure to be a bottle to entice any festival goer who loves great wine.

There will be plenty of new exhibitors joining the festival this year, including Luxury Mallow who specialise in luxurious homemade marshmallows in a range of gourmet flavours including lemon meringue pie and gin and tonic!

Also exhibiting at Cosford for the first time is Tropical Paradise Preserves who create a variety of preserves with Caribbean inspired flavours, spiced plum with dark rum jam and hot rocket chilli sauce to name but a few.

Organisers are also thrilled to have Indian Street Food joining the exhibitor line-up with a tasty selection of meat and vegetable pakora, Bombay sandwiches, lamb kebabs, aloo tikka salad and curried pasties. Plus, if it’s a cooling summers drink you’re after, keep a look out for Harry’s Milkshake Munchices with their exciting range of milkshakes made from the finest ingredients, served with a cookie on the side!

In addition to over 100 local producers of great food and drink, some of the region’s top chefs will be appearing live on the demo stage cooking speciality dishes and sharing their years of experience.

Festival goers can also sit back and enjoy bands playing throughout the day on the music stage and if you have little ones, bring them with you….there will be plenty of entertainment including kids cookery classes, circus skills, face painting and a tent packed full of activities.
