Packed with plenty of food and drink, brought to you by local suppliers from across the Midlands and heaps of entertainment for families to enjoy, the food festival is kick starting the summer holidays at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford.
Festival organisers are thrilled to be working with award winning health education company KidzKitchen at this year’s event. They will be running cooking workshops for children both days, teaching them everything they need to know about healthy eating and encouraging children to get hands on in the kitchen. Children can have a go at baking poppy seed bread or making some delicious treats including Rocky Road with an edible poppy decoration or a tasty lemon cheesecake with no added sugar…all guaranteed to keep your future little chef’s entertained.
The Cosford Food Festival is located in the heart of the Midlands and event organisers are keen to support new local businesses, as the area continues to develop and thrive as a focal point for excellent food and drink producers. As an area known for its excellent curries, organisers are delighted to welcome Masala Magic, based in Telford, as the first bursary placement at this year’s festival.
Lajina Leal of Masala Magic says:
“I turned a hobby and passion of teaching people to cook into a business. I created an authentic Indian spice blend to make perfectly seasoned curries to assist my learners to get creative in the kitchen. I enjoy sharing the skills I have grown up with and believe it’s so much healthier to cook your own meals.”
Visitors can sample some of Lajina’s Masala Magic in the tasters and tips tent both days. Plus, in addition to the fabulous food on offer, there are lots of added extras making a visit to the Festival perfect for everyone and not just food lovers. Crowds will be wowed by a flypast on both days courtesy of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Dakota, scheduled at 2:40pm on Saturday and 3:30pm on Sunday (weather permitting).
After enjoying a few hours perusing the stalls, visitors can sit back and enjoy the sweet sound of jazz as Hereford’s finest Jazz trio, JCjazz along with female vocalist Rebecca Grace perform live. Visit the music area between 12pm and 1pm both days for an uplifting and fun filled hour of musical entertainment that will have you singing along and tapping your toes. In addition to this, the Cosford RAF Voluntary Band will be creating a real buzz as they play nestled in the heart of the festival and local musician Anthony Doyle will be entertaining the crowds both days with his acoustic performances of some well-known favourites.

The Cosford Food Festival will run from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July and admission is just £5 per adult which includes a free Cosford Food Festival programme. Family tickets for two adults and up to four children cost just £12. Senior Citizens are £4, children aged 5-16 are £2 with free entry to children under the age of 5.
