On Saturday night, a packed Oswestry Cricket Club was treated to a wonderful Q&A session with Lord Botham OBE.

During the first half of the session, he described how he went from nearly signing for Crystal Palace to instead playing for Somerset with Sir Vivian Richards for the first time at Bath, and then running through his illustrious career including of course his Ashes heroics.
Following a short break, the audience was told of his role as a UK Trade Ambassador to Australia, his passion for, and business interests in wine, Shane Warnes’s golfing exploits and of course his amazing work for Charity. A great night was had by all.
The club say they are indebted to Mark Ball, for both organizing and comparing the evening, in addition to arranging the golf day that was held with Lord Botham during the day at Llanymynech, and to Croft and Oaks Chartered Financial Planners who were the main sponsors of the evening.
