Shrewsbury Town will be looking to bounce back from Good Friday’s defeat when they welcome Oxford United on Monday.
Despite slipping to a 2-1 defeat against Barnsley – Sam Ricketts will be pleased with his side’s performance at Oakwell.
And barring an unlikely turn of events, Shrewsbury will be plying their trade in League One next season; as they have a five-point cushion with three games remaining.
But Ricketts will be keen to ensure that complacency does not creep in, and will hope their season does not end with a whimper.
Ryan Sears capped a memorable weekend by penning a new deal. The youngster was handed a rare start against Barnsley.
The future is certainly bright for Town, and this was exemplified by James Rowland also signing a new deal.
Former Wales and Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards joins teammate Steve Arnold on the injury table. Otherwise, Shrewsbury are in the enviable position of having a clean bill of health.
Shrewsbury sealed a 3-2 victory in the corresponding fixture in April 2018. A Shaun Whalley brace and a strike from Jon Nolan cancelled out goals from Wes Thomas and Joe Rothwell.
The visitors will be without former Blackburn Rovers keeper Simon Eastwood. The shot-stopper saw red during Friday’s 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic. Playmaker Marcus Browne is also absent due to suspension.
Karl Robinson’s side occupies 12th place in League One.
