The two teams meet at the ice rink for the second time in two weeks, with Swindon Wildcats the visitors the Telford on Sunday.
The departure of Skene – who was man of the match in last week’s encounter – will come as a heavy blow for Peterborough, who have turned to forward Warren Tait to make up the defensive numbers.
And Tigers assistant coach Greg Blais believes that could prove to be key for his side tomorrow evening.
He said: “It is good for us that they have lost a player, and for it to be a defenceman means that could be their weak point.
“They still have their back-up netminder as well, although he did a very good job last weekend, so we need to keep shooting on net and hopefully tire them out.”
Swindon will prove to be a much tougher prospect on Sunday, with coach Pete Russell sure to have his side fired up after their defeat in Telford just a few weeks ago.
But after suffering two defeats last weekend, Blais is hoping to give give head coach Tom Watkins a welcome home present on his return from GB under-20s duty next week.
He added: “Swindon are a hard team to play against and they have some really good local players, as well as imports.
“But with the support of the fans and the way we play at home, I am pretty sure we can frustrate them and hopefully come out with two points.
“We just need to outwork them, as in our wins so fare we have been the hardest working team.”
Telford could have a number of new faces for the weekend’s games, as they look to make up for the loss of GB under-20s players Tom Soar, Declan Ryan, Luke Brittle and Callum Bowley.
Both matches face off at 5.30pm.
