Man arrested as Police appeal for witnesses to fatal A5 collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A5 between Telford and Shrewsbury on Monday.

At around 7am, a collision occurred between an HGV and four cars on the westbound carriageway of the A5.

Sadly, a passenger of one of the cars – a man in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people suffered serious injuries, and one other person suffered minor injuries. They were all taken to hospital for treatment.

A 66-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed as enquiries continue.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage of the incident.
