Volunteer litter pickers needed in Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Town Council’s Countryside and Greenspace team is looking for volunteers to join them for a litter pick at Pimley Woodland and the old Shrewsbury canal.

The event takes place from 10am on Friday, February 17.

Adam Clifford, countryside and greenspace ranger for the Town Council, said: “We have organised this event for next week and we hope to have as many people as possible join us on the day.

“We’ll be removing old tree guards from the woodland, which will be recycled, as well as a general litter pick of the site.

“We will supply all the necessary equipment, but I would ask people to wear appropriate footwear and outdoor clothing.”

The meeting point will be at the bottom of the road for Pimley Manor, adjacent to Shropshire Industrial Estates Limited (Map reference: 52°43’29.3″N 2°42’38.8″W). Parking is available at the Sports Village car park.
