Healthwatch Telford & Wrekin has launched its latest ‘Share Your Views’ questionnaires on Hospital Waiting Times and Mental Wellbeing, urging all residents who have been affected to take part.
The monthly ‘Share Your Views’ topics responds to the comments collected from the local community to ensure all surveys respond directly to the views and concerns of local residents.
Both surveys have been launched for the September edition of the monthly survey following a rise in the number of enquiries Healthwatch Telford & Wrekin has received from the local community as well as national reports which show these to be some of the most important issues on people’s minds.
The number of people waiting more than 18 weeks has double since to start of the pandemic and current estimates suggest the number of people on the waiting list in England may exceed 14 million – over 1 in 5 of England’s population – by Autumn 2022 meanwhile mental wellbeing, especially among young people, is feared to be at an all-time low with many suffering from depression, anxiety and are struggling to return to ‘normal’ life following the series of lockdowns.
Barry Parnaby, Chair of Healthwatch Telford & Wrekin said:
“As we open up following the latest lockdown, we are seeing increasing numbers of the public raising these issues to us. As your local health and social care champion, we want to hear whether you have been affected by either delays to hospital waiting times or struggling with mental wellbeing.”
To share your views, please either visit www.healthwatchtelfordandwrekin.co.uk/share-your-views1, phone 01952 739 540 or email firstname.lastname@example.org where other methods of completing the surveys will be made available.
All feedback will be collected and will help us feed vital information back to local health services.
