Woman assaulted near Telford school

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted near Randlay Primary School on Monday 23 May.

The 29-year-old victim was approached by a man, believed to be known to her, on the school car park between 2.40pm and 3pm.

He began shouting and gesticulating. He is then thought to have thrown an object, described as a cigarette lighter, at the victim. The object struck the victim in the face resulting in a cut to her upper lip, although she did not require medical treatment.

He then left the scene in a black Honda Civic, the registration is unknown.

This incident occurred at a busy location with parents picking children up from school. If you witnessed the incident you may be able to help officers with their investigation.

A 30-year-old man from Telford has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until Tuesday 21 June.
