Holiday traffic using the A458 was delayed for a time yesterday when a car towing a caravan caught fire.
The incident happened at Halfway House at around 1.30pm on Saturday.
All of the occupants got out of the vehicle safely and they were also able to save their caravan.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Unfortunately the vehicle burnt out very quickly despite help from nearby residents. A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Minsterley attended the scene along with the local police team and an ambulance crew.
“The road was completely blocked for 30 minutes while the vehicle was dealt with, we were then able to partially open the road and fully open it again 30 minutes later after some help from residents and some local farm machinery.”
