Lorry fire closes A41 in Tong

Motorists using the A41 in Tong faced delays this morning after a lorry fire closed the road.

The incident happened just before 5.30am this morning.

Three fire appliances were mobilised from Albrighton, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was also in attendance.

Crews used Breathing Apparatus, a hosereel jet and small gear to put out the fire which firefighters said had destroyed 100% of the cab.
