Cllr Jones, voiced his concern after being contacted by a local school, Oswestry Borders U3A and local business man John Read in just a two week period.

The Mayor, has written to agents involved in marketing the properties on behalf of their clients and highlighted the complaints he is receiving about the continuing dilapidation of the shop fronts.

In the letter, Cllr Jones, pointed out “the empty properties in Cross Street in particular are an embarrassment to the town as they continue to fall into disrepair. Could you please advise on the progress on the letting of these properties and we also ask as a matter of urgency that your clients address the failing condition of these buildings.”
