Shrewsbury teenager found guilty of Ben Bebbington murder

Bradley Davies, 18, of Ditherington, Shrewsbury, was convicted after a unanimous verdict was returned by the jury at Birmingham Crown Court.

He had admitted being involved in the attack on Ben Bebbington but had blamed his co-accused Stewart Doran.

Doran, of Bainbridge Green, Harlescott, pleaded guilty to Mr Bebbington’s murder in December.

Mr Bebbington, 43, a well known busker and from the Harlescott area, died after being discovered with head injuries on an old canal footpath between Ditherington Road and Telford Way on 7 September last year.

He died at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire from acute bleeding on the brain caused kicks to his head and face.

Davies and Doran, who admitted the murder, will be sentenced on Friday.
