The ball court in First Avenue, Ketley Bank, was identified as a priority for refurbishment as part of the borough’s Play Area strategy.
The council has been working through the list of priority sites, using lottery and playbuilder funding to upgrade a number of play areas.
These funded programmes were completed by last year but there were other projects that still needed completing without funding, including First Avenue.
With the support of both Oakengates Town Council and Ketley Bank Residents Association, Telford & Wrekin Council secured £40,000 capital funding to carry out the work that was required.
A design was identified following public consultation with local people and organisations and the work was carried out by Lightmain Leisure.
An official opening is planned for the future once the grass and landscaping around the site is more established.
Councillor Arnold England, cabinet member for Leisure and Well-being, said: “Telford & Wrekin Council has already completed the revamp of the children’s equipped play area at First Avenue and has now provided a brand new replacement ball court, which is already proving extremely popular.
“The consultation we have carried out with users of the site has ensured the design meets their expectations We now look forward to continuing to work with our partners in this project to promote these facilities.”
