Thousands of school children and members of the public will be welcoming the flame by lining the streets of eleven Shropshire towns and villages.
Oswestry Olympic Torch Route
Arriving in Oswestry at 09.47 the torch relay will begin close to the junction of Jasmine Gardens on the Gobowen Road where it will travel onto Oswald Road, turning left onto Leg Street and then into English Walls and Smithfield Street.
From Smithfield Street the flame will turn left onto Church Street, Upper Church Street and Morda Road. At Morda Bank close to the Junction of Erw Wen, the flame will go into ‘transit mode’ travelling to Pant.

Pant Olympic Torch Route
Entering Pant at 10.23 the Olympic Torch Relay will begin on the A483 near the junction of School Lane. Continuing through Pant the flame will go back into ‘transit mode’ past the junctions of Underhill Lane and Rhiw Refail Lane.

Llanymynech Olympic Torch Route
Arriving in Llanymynech at 10.36 the Relay will travel along North Road and The Street before entering ‘transit mode’ to Welshpool.

Shrewsbury Olympic Torch Route
Starting on the Welshpool Road at 11.40 the flame will travel along Shelton Road, The Mount and into Frankwell over the Welsh bridge onto Smithfield Road and up into Castle Gates past Shrewsbury Castle. The flame will follow the road to St Mary’s Street and Dogpole before heading down Wyle Cop and over the English Bridge and along Old Potts Way.
From Old Potts Way the flame will travel toward the Column along Haycock Way and along Wenlock Road where it will go into transit at the junction of Kingston Drive before heading to Much Wenlock.

Cressage Olympic Torch Route
Arriving in Cressage at 13.02, the flame will travel from Shrewsbury Road and Harley Road through the village.

Much Wenlock Olympic Torch Route
Arriving in Much Wenlock at 13.14 the Olympic Torch Relay will begin on the A458 Victoria Road just past the Southfield Road Junction, turning into High Street it will make its way left onto Wilmore Street onto new Road and Sheinton Street, Farley Road to William Brookes School at 1.28pm. The torch relay convoy will stop at the school for lunch.
Following the break at 2.32pm flame will travel back down Farley Road, Sheinton Street and New Road onto Wilmore Street. The relay will then turn onto Barrow Street finishing on the junction of Hunters Gate.

Benthall & Broseley Olympic Torch Route
Arriving in ‘transit mode’ from Much Wenlock the Olympic Torch Relay will begin on Benthall Lane at 14.51 past the junction of Lodge Lane. The relay will travel along to Barratts Hill and onto Broseley High Street. It will then take a left turn to Church Street finally finishing on Ironbridge Road close to Beech Drive.

Ironbridge Olympic Torch Route
Arriving in ‘transit mode’ from Broseley at 15.14 the relay will begin on LadyWood before heading across the World Famous Iron Bridge and left onto Tontine Hill. Heading along The Wharfage the flame will take a right turn onto Dale Road, Wellington Road and School Road before going back into ‘transit mode’ heading to Telford.

Arriving on Malinsgate in Telford Town Centre at 15.46 the flame will travel onto Woodhouse Central and Lawn Central before going into ‘transit mode’ on Hollinsgate and heading to Newport.

Newport Olympic Torch Route
Heading into Newport in ‘transit mode’ the relay will begin at 16.06 on Wellington Road past the junction of Silverdale Close. the flame will then travel along Wellington Road and turn left onto Upper Bar and High Street before turning into Stafford Street and onto Stafford Road. At the junction of Hampton Drive the torch will go into ‘transit mode’ before leaving Newport and heading onto Gnosall.
Carrying the torch through Newport will be:
