Wrexham and Shropshire announce fares increase on semi flexible fares only

The semi flexible fares will be priced at £44 from Shrewsbury, Wellington, Telford and Cosford.

The fares freeze on fully flexible tickets is great news for passengers travelling to and from London. Since launching their service in April 2008, Wrexham & Shropshire have provided a much needed transport link to the capital. They have continued to deliver performance improvements by cutting journey times by up to half an hour and introducing new trains. Their efforts and famous customer service has seen them achieve a 99% customer satisfaction rating, the highest of any UK train operator.

Andy Hamilton, Wrexham & Shropshire’s Managing Director, said: “We realise that this comes at a time when we are all cutting back. We have done our best to keep fares as low as we possibly can and still maintain a punctual and reliable service. We have not increased our semi-flexible fares since launch and will be freezing our fully flexible fares so that we can continue to deliver value for money fares”.

The increasing numbers of business and leisure passengers opting to travel First class will continue to benefit from the same value for money fares, which are available from just £120 return and include a complimentary meal served by a dedicated First class steward and free wifi.

The ‘Kids Go Free’ family saver ticket to London will still be a great option for many families. With prices for family saver tickets starting from as little as £80, a trip to the Capital is even easier. And, when travelling by train you can enjoy 2-For-1 entry to top London attractions such as Madame Tussauds and the Tower of London.

Tickets are easy to book and can be sent direct to your mobile phone when you book online at www.wrexhamandshropshire.co.uk. Alternatively call 0845 260 5900 or buy on board at no extra cost.

Specific increases will be available week commencing 28 November on our website. The last day to purchase advance tickets (departing after 2 January) at 2010 prices is 2 December.
