Walk out of lockdown for Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices

As Covid restrictions begin to ease people across Shropshire are being encouraged to walk their way out of lockdown by joining Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices’ Midsummer Walk.

Throughout the month of June and midsummer people are being challenged to complete 75 miles to raise vital funds to help seriously ill local children and their families.  

The route will take walkers take a virtual scenic route from Conwy to Oswestry, the homes to Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith.

By using a live leader board those who sign up will be able to track their progress as they put the miles in, passing milestones and seeing where other participants are up to.  

Fundraiser Nicola Eyes said: “It’s been an incredibly tough past year for everyone, and for our hospices. But come June the sun will be shining, the bees will be buzzing, and it will be perfect weather to get out walking.  

“As lockdown restrictions ease into the summer, we want people to join us and walk out of lockdown by taking on this 75-mile challenge, wherever they are, and at the same time raise vital funds to help support the children and family that use the hospice services. 

“The Midsummer Walk is going to be a lot of fun, and a bit competitive too, with a leader board where walkers able to see how close they are to the top.” 

People will be able to link to their Strava accounts or manually input their miles. They will also receive a bespoke medal once you complete your challenge. 

This is a free to enter event with a commitment to raise a minimum of £21 for a medal and goodie bag, and those that raise over £50 will be entered into our prize draw.
