Shropshire based charity, The Movement Centre, held their annual Awards Party on Tuesday 11th April, for all of the children who have completed a course of Targeted Training therapy over the last year.

Targeted Training helps children who have a disability, such as Cerebral Palsy, which affects their movement control. Through a course of specialist Targeted Training some children have been able to lift their head up for the first time to engage with the world around them, to stand or even to walk.

The event, held at The Venue at Park Hall, was a wonderful celebration, with children, families, and supporters of the charity getting together.

As well as recognising the achievements of all of the children who have worked so hard over the last 12 months, there was an award presented for outstanding contribution to The Movement Centre. The Lady Trevor Award this year was awarded to the Porter Family. Jeremy and Bethan’s son Jac has attended The Movement Centre since early 2016. Since then the family have held a number of events and activities to raise awareness of the charity and fundraised an incredible £25000.

“We are so proud of all of the children and families who come to The Movement Centre, for their dedication and their achievements. It is so wonderful to celebrate with everyone”, said Pauline Holbrook, Director at the Movement Centre. “We were also delighted to present this year’s Lady Trevor Award to the Porter family for their amazing support.”

The Movement Centre is a charity and it relies on voluntary support to be able to continue its work.
