The multi-terrain Apley Run, which was originally due to take place in February, will now take place on Saturday September 27.
The event, which has been sponsored by Nock Deighton, is being held to raise money for St Chad’s Church at Stockton and St Milburga Church at Beckbury.
Runners have a choice of three races – 5km, 10km or 21km – across the stunning parklands of the Apley Estate at Norton, just outside Bridgnorth and there will be free cake on offer for all those who reach the finish line.
Graham Taylor, managing director of Nock Deighton, said he was delighted to sponsor the Apley Run after the estates and lettings company was invited by organisers Apley Estate owners Lord Gavin Hamilton and his wife Lady Harriet Hamilton.
“It had special meaning for us as back in 1831 our founder, Thomas Nock, lived at the Levenhalls, just a short walk from St Chad’s Church in Stockton and would no doubt have visited the church on many occasions,” said Mr Taylor.
“We sponsored the run back when it was first organised in February and we are happy to take the sponsorship through to now for the rescheduled run.
“It is successful community events like this that bring families, neighbours, friends and strangers together and everyone at Nock Deighton very much enjoy attending and supporting such events.”
Runners in the 10km and 21km races must be aged 17 or over, with the 5km race open to those from 11 years old.
Entry costs from £6 to £15 in advance for Black Country Triathlete members, £7 to £17 for non-members and £10 to £20 on the day, depending on the race entered.
