Once again local people are invited to enter the small scale show with their home grown produce and offer it for display on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 August alongside the other entries.

There are categories for all the family to enter including; a basket of four vegetable varieties, longest runner bean, floral arrangement in an unusual container, jar of fruit jam, jar of marmalade, Victoria sponge cake, and homemade fruit wine. There will also be a men only class of cupcakes on a plate as well as children’s classes of a mini garden, a monster made from natural materials and fairy cakes on a tray.

All entries must be registered between 8-10am on Saturday 30 August and all categories and classes are free of charge. Judging will take place at 12noon on Saturday. Prizes and certificates will be presented by Wellington Mayor Karen Tomlinson at 3pm on Sunday 31 August on the main lawn.

Sunnycroft gardener and event organiser, Joel Richards says: “This is the second time we have run this event and we are looking forward to seeing some of the creative entries that people have made. We have entertainment for the whole weekend including cooking demonstrations in the Conservatory from our friends at the Aga Factory Shop in Ketley and activities and stalls including Outback2basics, the Wildlife Trust and Vicky’s Preserves. As well as cane work and wood turning demonstrations there will also be folk music playing on both days to really bring the main lawn to life.”

All exhibitors will be given a free garden pass for the weekend. Standard admission charges apply to other visitors, free to National Trust members and under 5s. Discounted entry applies to those who arrive by foot. For further details on events visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/sunnycroft or call the property on 01952 242884.
