Local residents of Wellington are in for a treat later this month as the Eyton & Wellington Women’s Institute (WI) invites them to join a unique fundraising event.

The WI’s very own Ukulele Band will be taking to the streets for a “Sip and Strum” pub crawl, aiming to raise vital funds for the Severn Hospice. The talented band will be performing at three different pubs across Wellington on Wednesday, March 26th.
The musical journey will kick off at The Pheasant in Market Street at 6pm, before moving on to The Wrekin Inn in Wrekin Road at 6.40pm. The final stop on their tuneful tour will be The Wickets in Holyhead Road at 7.20pm.
At each location, the Ukulele Band will play a selection of their repertoire, providing lively entertainment for pub-goers. Following their performances, a charity collection will take place, with all proceeds going directly to Severn Hospice, a local organisation providing essential care and support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
A spokesperson for the Ukulele Band expressed their enthusiasm for the event, saying, “We wanted a fun way to raise money for our local hospice, so decided to play a few songs around the town. Thanks to the local publicans, people can enjoy a drink as well as listen to some live music. It should be an enjoyable evening for all.”
This promises to be a delightful and community-spirited event, offering a chance to enjoy some live music, support local pubs, and contribute to a worthy cause.
