In the spirit of Christmas, New Road Academy’s talented students and staff have come together to produce a heart-warming Christmas music video featuring their rendition of the much-loved classic, “Little Drummer Boy”.
This creative project highlights the school’s vibrant music and performing arts programme, demonstrating the transformative power of music and community.
Under the leadership of Ben Millington, Head of Performing Arts, the school’s choir, instrumentalists, and production team have worked tirelessly to bring this festive vision to life. The video not only showcases the students’ impressive musical skills but also reflects their dedication, teamwork, and passion for the arts.
“We wanted to create something special that would resonate with our community and spread a message of hope and joy,” said Ben Millington. “The students have poured their hearts into this project, and it’s been a privilege to watch them shine.”
The music video was filmed on-site at New Road Academy, incorporating a mix of traditional and modern elements to give the classic song a fresh and dynamic feel. Students were deeply involved in all aspects of production, from arranging the music to contributing ideas for the video’s creative direction.
This is the first Christmas for New Road Academy under its new name, formerly Telford Priory School, making the release of this music video a landmark moment. Following a successful festive performances all over Telford and at the Mayor’s Christmas Service at the Telford Minster, the school hopes this video will bring festive joy to families across the area while showcasing the incredible talent and potential of its students.
The music video is available on the music departments YouTube channel and social media platforms on, where it will be shared as part of the school’s Christmas celebrations.
