Concert set to raise funds for Shrewsbury Ark

Lunettes

The full electric line-up of local band the Lunettes will be playing at The Hive in Shrewsbury’s Belmont, in aid of a great local cause.

Jayne Carpenter usually graces the stages of the world’s opera houses, but in her capacity as vocalist with The Lunettes she’ll be getting her teeth into some very different repertoire indeed. Local broadcaster and photographer Jim Hawkins will be spanking a Telecaster to within an inch of its life, and Jaynie and Jim will be joined by south Shropshire actor and musician David Wright on bass, and ‘Matlock Hare’ author Phil Lovery on drums.

Also taking part in the evening’s concert will be renowned Shropshire singer, guitarist and songwriter Chris Quinn, ukulele ensemble The Severn Ukes and Wynndebagge on the hurdy-gurdy.

Each act will be doing individual sets, there’ll be some collaborations too, and the evening will end with a huge festive singalong. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

Tickets are £10, and all proceeds from the evening are going to The Shrewsbury Ark’s work with homeless and vulnerable people in our town. Book your tickets by calling The Hive on 01743 234970.

Doors open 7pm, on stage from 7:30pm.
