Darren Wood, Events Manager at Shrewsbury School commented:
“During their 2011 tour of Britain, the Choir performed a concert in the Maidment Auditorium which sold out well in advance, with people being turned away at the door. I therefore suggest that if you wish to witness what promises to be an amazing evening, please do book as early as possible”
The concert promises to be an amazing experience, with full costume changes, fine song showcasing the huge breadth of vocal ranges, drumming of which you have never experienced before and dancing with boundless energy.
Darren continued:
“The main activity of the Pearl of Africa Child Care is raising funds to support the seven schools and homes run by the Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation. This will help with the provision of food, clean water and healthcare for thousands of children and their families that rely on kind donations. They also organise the annual UK tour of the Pearl of Africa Children’s Choir. The internationally acclaimed choir is made up of students from the various schools and homes run by the Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation, a Ugandan non-government organisation
“When they last visited us in 2011 the choir had a full day with us, joining our students in singing and drumming workshops, over lunch they performed a couple of songs to a packed dining hall which ended in rapturous applause from our 700 students. Spending the whole day with the choir truly was a humbling experience, they are an amazing group of people with impeccable manners and great outlook on life.”
The concert takes place in the Maidment Auditorium on 21 November 2013 at 7.30pm. The concert is FREE to attend with a retiring collection in aid of Pearl of Africa Child Care.
