He said: “It’s a real pleasure to work with the Mad Cows on The Producers. It is a truly entertaining musical.

“Though I may be more often seen in front of choirs and classical orchestras, I also have a passion for musical theatre so when I was given the chance to be the musical director on The Producers how could I refuse?”

Alex Hinton, the show’s director, said: “We are very excited. It really is the icing on the cake for Mad Cow Productions to have such a gifted musician on board.

“His impact on the rehearsal room is amazing, chorus and principals alike are enjoying his input and learning so much from his immense musical knowledge.

“The last piece of the jigsaw is in place for a fabulous spring evening out.”

The Producers tells the story of has-been Broadway producer Max Bialystock and neurotic accountant Leopold Bloom who devise a money making scheme to get rich by producing a sure fire Broadway disaster, then pocketing the left-over cash when it flops.

The show will run from May 19 to 21 in the Auditorium at Theatre Severn. It will start at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost from £17 to £10, to book telephone (01743) 281281 or visit www.theatresevern.co.uk.
