Local McDonald’s franchisee Matt Winfield and his dedicated team across Telford have stepped up to support grassroots football by donating 500 bottles of water for players, along with food vouchers for those named player of the match, in next month’s County Cup Finals, hosted by the Shropshire FA.

The generous contribution is aimed at recognising the hard work and talent of young footballers across the region, while also supporting their health and well-being on match days.
The County Cup Finals are a key highlight in the local sporting calendar, bringing together teams from across Shropshire to compete for top honours.
“We’re proud to support young people in our community and encourage their passion for sport,” said Matt Winfield.
“Grassroots football plays an important role in building confidence, teamwork, and lifelong skills. We’re delighted to be a part of the Shropshire FA County Cup Finals and to reward the commitment of these talented players.”
The Shropshire FA welcomed the partnership and praised the initiative for its positive impact on young athletes.
“This support from Matt and his team at McDonald’s Telford is a fantastic boost for the County Cup Finals,” said a Shropshire FA spokesperson. “It’s great to see local businesses getting behind grassroots football and helping us create a memorable experience for everyone involved.”
The County Cup Finals will take place throughout May, with teams from across the county competing in a range of age groups and divisions. The donated items will be distributed during the final events, helping to ensure young players stay hydrated and leave with a well-deserved treat.
