People in Business is being hosted by Lanyon Bowdler at the firm’s offices in Telford on March 14 at 1pm, and follows the successful launch of a series of informal networking events in Oswestry.

The free-to-attend event will feature guest speaker Sally Themans – a start-up and SME business coach who is well-known for her Love Wellington, Love Shifnal and Love Bridgnorth social media platforms that have a combined following of 45,000, regularly reaching a monthly audience of more than two million.

Sally is also Head of Place Marketing at Bridgnorth-based business growth specialists Good2Great and is committed to making a difference to places by helping businesses and communities thrive.

Amanda Jones, marketing director at Lanyon Bowdler, said: “We are always keen to support Shropshire’s business community and one way to do that is by hosting networking events – bringing companies together to meet like-minded people and inviting influential business leaders to share their valuable insights.

“One of the key points about our People in Business events is that they are not just an opportunity to build connections, they are fun and inspiring in equal measure.

“This date follows the success of similar events in Oswestry, and we are grateful to Sally Themans for joining us to give an outline of her career and to also speak about the importance for businesses to engage with their community to form mutually beneficial relationships.”

Sally Themans has worked with local authorities for eight years, supporting high street regeneration which she combines with coaching and advising retailers, start-ups and SMEs, and has worked with more than 1,000 individuals on their business journey.

She has advised at government level on how to get communities more involved in shaping their place, and is now helping businesses to connect with each other and become more embedded in their local communities.

Amanda added: “Sally continues to form an essential independent link between businesses, councils and communities, and we are really looking forward to hearing her story and thoughts on how businesses can improve and grow.”

People in Business takes place on Friday, March 14, between 1pm and 2.30pm at the Lanyon Bowdler offices in Kendal Court, Ironmasters Way, near Telford Shopping Centre. It is free to attend but people are being advised to book now as places are limited.
