Shrewsbury-based Krazy Races, the UK’s wildly popular soapbox derby, is set to take its unique brand of racing Down Under in 2026.

Since its launch in Shrewsbury Quarry in 2019, the event has become a national sensation, attracting over 240,000 spectators, raising more than £200,000 for charity, and featuring over 350 teams competing in gravity-fueled races. Now, the high-octane, family-friendly spectacle is preparing for its first international venture.
Partnering with the Australian charity DV Collective, Krazy Races will bring its signature blend of wacky racing and community spirit to cities and towns across Australia. This marks a significant milestone in the event’s history, signaling the start of its global expansion. The Australian events promise the same thrilling races, vibrant atmosphere, and commitment to charitable giving that have made Krazy Races a beloved fixture in the UK.
Sarah Belcher, Founder of Krazy Races, expressed her excitement about the upcoming expansion. “We’re incredibly proud of how far Krazy Races has come in just a few years, and we’re thrilled to now be taking the event global,” she said. “The response we’ve had in the UK has been nothing short of amazing, and we can’t wait to bring the Krazy magic to Australia in 2026.”
Belcher emphasised the importance of the partnership with DV Collective, an Australian domestic abuse charity. “This move has been made possible thanks to our amazing partnership with DV Collective,” she explained. “This inspirational charity is doing incredible work in Australia, and we are delighted to be able to use Krazy Races as a vehicle to spread awareness and raise funds for such an important charity while spreading our brand of fun to the people of Australia. Do they know what they are letting themselves in for?!”
The organisers are looking forward to collaborating with local councils, businesses, and communities across Australia to create unforgettable experiences for both participants and spectators.
