The project is transforming a vacant property at White Lodge Park in Shawbury into a low-carbon home. Students from Shrewsbury College are working alongside staff, expert contractors, and Connexus on the project.

The project will provide students with hands-on training in retrofitting, including insulation, airtightness, and installation of green technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels.

Regular workshops and open days will be held on site so the public can see the improvements being made and learn more about retrofitting. There will also be training sessions on topics such as using thermal imaging cameras to find thermal weaknesses and how EPC assessments are carried out.

The first event for the public is a webinar titled “Are Heat Pumps any good?” on Monday, January 27th at 1pm.

You can find more information and register for the webinar on the Marches Energy Agency’s Eventbrite page AreHeatPumpsAnyGood.eventbrite.co.uk.
