The Lawley Lightmoor FC Galaxy Under 12s team has won the backing of PR and content creation agency J&PR Ltd based in Wellington.

The boys, who are from various schools all over the borough, will play Under 13s next year which involves a bigger pitch and an 11-aside game.

Andy Jones, team coach said it was vital that grassroots football teams had the backing of local businesses as demonstrated by J&PR.

“I am extremely passionate about the youngsters having a full personalised kit with jackets and training kits so they all feel like one team and feel proud to walk out onto that pitch.

“I feel being able to offer them a smart, well designed, good quality kit makes a difference to them – they feel valued and supported and that is important, Andy said.

“Nobody should turn up to training or a game worried about the kit they are in or potentially parents not being able to afford a kit – by securing the very generous sponsorship donated by Kirsty and Rhea at J&PR, it means we have no worries ahead of next season.

“We were able to purchase the home kit with club funds through the subs parents pay but with the generous sponsorship the boys now have a full away strip, a waterproof coat and will have a new training kit too.

“We understand there’s many grassroots sports teams in Telford looking for sponsorship and all I would say to businesses is if you are approached please stop for a minute and consider it – every pound helps and it makes such a difference to the youngsters.”

Kirsty Smallman, Managing Director of J&PR, based in Wellington which was founded in 2012, said: “The majority of the players in this team have played together since they were in Key Stage 1 of primary school and now they are in different secondary schools and have stuck together.

“They weren’t always winning games but always held their heads up and showed such respect to fellow players and the referee on the pitch and to coaches, officials and parents off the pitch.

“We are pleased to be able to support them and they look fantastic in their new kit ahead of the new season. We look forward to supporting them pitchside from September.”

The team is looking for one more player for the new season which is a striker. The player must be currently in Year 7 and starting Year 8 in September. To enquire about the striker position call Andy Jones on 07912 104 816.
