Shrewsbury-based Yarrington Ltd is helping to improve the ability of Kayak 4 Heroes expedition to engage with members of the public and potential sponsors.
Yarrington has played an invaluable role by creating an engaging and visually impressive website which provides details of the expedition and showcases the team to potential sponsors.
Kayak 4 Heroes is a team of four injured/wounded veterans aiming to achieve a world first by becoming the first ‘adaptive team’ (containing individuals with injuries/disabilities) to complete the iconic British challenge of Land’s End to John O’ Groats by kayak – an incredibly testing journey of 1,400 kilometres.
In the process of completing the expedition, Kayak 4 Heroes is hoping to raise over £100,000 for two incredible charities.
The team will be led by Darren Edwards, a Shropshire resident who was paralysed from the chest down in a climbing accident nearly four years ago. In July 2021, the team will set off on the 1,400-kilometre journey from Land’s End in Cornwall and will tackle some of the United Kingdom’s toughest and most exposed waters before arriving at John O’ Groats in Scotland. The team will have to work together to overcome their respective injuries and disabilities in order to succeed and hope to inspire the next generation of disabled athletes and explorers by doing so.
The Kayak 4 Heroes team say they are incredibly grateful for the support that Yarrington has provided as expedition website sponsor.
With an ambitious target of raising £100,000 for charity, the Kayak 4 Heroes website can be viewed at www.kayak4heroes.co.uk.
