Shropshire and Mid-Wales based electrical contractors, Nexus Electrics Ltd has been carrying out work for The Ark in Shrewsbury as part of their service to provide for homeless people.
The Shrewsbury Ark provides support and Day Centre facilities to homeless and vulnerable people in the Shropshire community. They support people in need in various ways, including counselling and mental health support, food, washing facilities, care packages, onsite doctors, outreach activities and more.
Servicing Shropshire and Mid-Wales, Nexus Electrics felt it only right that they provide for their community too and decided to offer their services free of charge to the charity as part of their GivingBack Scheme.
With some users of The Ark’s services now moving into accommodation of their own, Nexus Electrics was on hand to carry out all the electrical works and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents. Nexus ensured all faulty components were replaced, new appliances were installed, and fixtures were rearranged for maximum safety and efficiency.
Director of Nexus Electrics, Mr Ian Hodgkiss, said “The safety and welfare of the people of Shropshire is why we do what we do. We are so proud to help our community however we can, and we are glad that includes ensuring people’s homes and businesses are safe, protected and compliant”
Manager of The Shrewsbury Ark, Wendy Faulkner, said “The Team at Nexus have been absolutely fantastic, stepping in at short notice not only to complete work in the Ark but also for some of our friends who have moved into their own homes, thank you for your continued support, it is very much appreciated”
Nexus Electrics Ltd is a family owned and run company, serving Shropshire and Mid-Wales. Nexus offers a wide range of electrical services to the highest industry and regulatory standards, whilst being completely community focused.
This is reflected in the work they provide for charities such as The Ark and their strive for a more sustainable future, with the promotion of electrical vehicle charging in the workplace. This is an initiative Nexus run to help businesses implement them easily, safely and with government grants.
The electrical work Nexus Electrics carried out for The Ark in Shrewsbury meant users of their main services building could safely live in a place of their own and the charity could be rest assured that all regulations were met.
Mr Hodgkiss said “Giving back to our community is something we will always look to do more of. Working with The Ark in Shrewsbury has been great, and we hope to continue to work with them, and other local charities, to ensure their safety.”
